Designed as an accessible entry point into the Apex ecosystem, the A3 Apex Jr continuously monitors four important areas: temperature, pH, water level, and water leaks. Connect the system to WiFi and use Apex Fusion to view aquarium data, track changes, configure alerts, and check your system remotely from a compatible phone, tablet, or computer.

The included temperature probe helps identify heater or chiller problems, while the double-junction pH probe tracks changes in aquarium chemistry. The MOS Magnetic Optical Sensor can monitor a selected water level, and the included LD-2 sensor detects water on a solid surface outside the aquarium.

The A3 Apex Jr is primarily a monitoring system and does not include an Energy Bar for controlling aquarium equipment. Its expandable design allows compatible Neptune Systems modules and power-control equipment to be added separately as your aquarium automation needs grow.

MONITORING CAPABILITIES

TEMPERATURE MONITORING

The included temperature probe continuously monitors aquarium temperature. Apex alerts can help identify heater failures, chiller problems, and other potentially dangerous temperature changes.

PH MONITORING

The included double-junction pH probe allows you to monitor current pH and review changes over time. This is especially useful for reef aquariums, calcium-reactor systems, and aquariums using kalkwasser or two-part dosing.

WATER-LEVEL MONITORING

The included MOS Magnetic Optical Sensor detects changes between wet and dry conditions. It can be positioned to monitor water levels in a sump, reservoir, dosing container, or another suitable vessel.

LEAK DETECTION

The included LD-2 Solid-Surface Leak Detection Sensor can be placed inside an aquarium stand or on another suitable hard surface. If water reaches the sensor, the Apex Jr can generate an alert so action can be taken quickly.

APEX FUSION

Apex Fusion is Neptune Systems’ cloud-based monitoring and control platform. Once the A3 Apex Jr is connected to WiFi, Apex Fusion allows you to:

• Configure high and low alerts
• Receive notifications about abnormal conditions
• Log aquarium maintenance, testing, and dosing information
• Access your aquarium dashboard remotely

MONITORING NOW, CONTROL LATER

The A3 Apex Jr is a monitoring-focused system. It does not include controllable electrical outlets and cannot directly switch standard aquarium equipment on and off by itself.

Compatible Neptune Systems Energy Bars and other control modules can be added separately through AquaBus when equipment control is desired.

EXPANSION OPTIONS

The two AquaBus ports allow compatible Neptune Systems modules and accessories to be added as your system grows. Possible expansion options include:

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

The A3 Apex Jr uses WiFi for network connectivity and does not include an Ethernet port.

This package is designed primarily for aquarium monitoring. An Energy Bar or other compatible power-control equipment is required to control pumps, heaters, lights, and other electrical devices.

A smartphone, tablet, computer, display module, Energy Bar, and expansion accessories are not included unless specifically stated otherwise.

Carefully calibrate all probes and test alert settings before relying on the system for aquarium protection. Remote monitoring and notifications require a functioning network and internet connection.
