Provide gentle, indirect flow that allows the polyps to sway without being blasted or pressed against the skeleton. Leave several inches of space between this colony and neighboring corals because hammer corals can extend stinging sweeper tentacles.
Stable parameters are especially important for maintaining healthy tissue extension and continued skeletal growth.
Feeding
This coral receives much of its energy through photosynthesis but can benefit from occasional target feeding. Offer small portions of finely chopped meaty foods, mysis shrimp, or a quality coral food once or twice weekly.
