Eleocharis montevidensis has long, thin green leaves that can grow up to 20 inches in length. It can grow in a variety of water conditions, including both soft and hard water, but prefers moderate to high lighting and a nutrient-rich substrate.

To care for Eleocharis montevidensis in your aquarium, it is important to provide it with a substrate that is rich in nutrients, such as a substrate specifically designed for aquatic plants. The plant should be planted in the substrate with the roots buried, but the crown of the plant should be left above the substrate.

Eleocharis montevidensis does not require frequent pruning, but it is important to trim the leaves periodically to prevent them from growing too long and becoming tangled. Regular water changes and the addition of liquid fertilizers can help to keep the plant healthy and thriving.
