Fine Sugar-Sized Aragonite

The small, rounded grains create the classic fine white sand appearance popular in reef aquariums.

Its fine texture is also suitable for many gobies and other sand-sifting organisms, with Pentair noting that the grains can pass easily through the gills of sand sifters.

Ideal for Shallow Sand Beds

AragaMax Sugar-Sized Oolite is particularly suited to shallow substrate beds. Its fine grain structure allows biological activity to develop within a relatively shallow layer, with CaribSea/Pentair noting denitrification can occur at depths as little as approximately 1 inch.

Natural Aragonite

Unlike inert silica-based substrates, AragaMax is composed of calcium carbonate aragonite.

The sand is white in color and manufactured without impurities such as ash, metals, pesticides, or silica, making it suitable for marine fish and invertebrate systems.
