The Ultra Chile Button Scolymia is a premium LPS coral featuring intense coloration, a fleshy rounded structure, and a striking pattern that makes it an exceptional centerpiece for a reef aquarium.
This is a WYSIWYG coral. You will receive the exact coral shown in the product images.
Care Requirements
• Coral type: LPS
• Care level: Easy to moderate
• Temperament: Semi-aggressive
• Lighting: Low to moderate
• Water flow: Low to moderate
• Placement: Lower section or sand bed
• Feeding: Photosynthetic with optional supplemental feeding
• Growth form: Solitary, fleshy button-shaped polyp
Placement and Care
Place the coral on the sand bed or a stable, smooth area in the lower portion of the aquarium. Avoid sharp rockwork that could damage its fleshy tissue as the coral expands.
Provide gentle, indirect water movement. Excessive flow may prevent the coral from fully inflating or cause its tissue to rub against the skeleton.
Begin under lower lighting and gradually acclimate the coral if placing it into a brighter reef system. Allow adequate space between this coral and neighboring specimens to prevent contact and potential stinging.
Feeding
This coral receives much of its energy through photosynthesis but can benefit from occasional supplemental feeding. Offer small portions of mysis shrimp, finely chopped marine foods, or appropriately sized LPS coral food when its feeding response is visible.
Avoid overfeeding and remove any uneaten food.
