Pond Requirements

Koi are active, fast-growing fish that require a spacious, fully cycled pond with strong filtration, excellent oxygenation, and consistently clean water.

These fish are not suitable for permanent housing in small indoor aquariums. Always plan for their full adult size before purchasing.

Feeding

Feed a high-quality koi pellet formulated for the current season and water temperature.

Spring and summer: Offer a balanced, higher-protein koi formula
Cooler weather: Transition to an easily digestible wheat-germ formula
Below approximately 41°F: Stop feeding until the water warms

Avoid overfeeding and remove uneaten food to help maintain water quality.

Important Livestock Information
