Appearance

Ghost Koi are known for their dark bodies, metallic scales, pale ghostlike markings, and occasional orange or yellow highlights. No two fish are exactly alike, making every group a unique addition to the pond.

Pond Requirements

Ghost Koi are active fish that grow quickly and produce a substantial amount of waste. They require a spacious, properly filtered and fully cycled pond with excellent water quality and plenty of swimming room.

These fish are not suitable for small indoor aquariums as a permanent home. Provide adequate surface agitation and oxygenation, especially during warm weather.

Feeding

Offer a quality koi pellet as the primary diet. Their nutritional needs change with the seasons:

Spring and summer: Feed a balanced, higher-protein koi food
Cooler weather: Transition to an easily digestible wheat-germ formula
Below approximately 41°F: Discontinue feeding until the water warms

Avoid overfeeding and remove uneaten food to help maintain water quality.

Important Livestock Information

Live fish may display temporary color changes or appear stressed upon arrival. Allow them time to acclimate and settle into their new environment.

Always quarantine new livestock whenever possible before introducing it to an established pond. Never release aquarium or pond fish into natural waterways.
