Purigen offers excellent organic-removal capacity and helps improve water clarity without significantly affecting essential trace elements. As the media becomes exhausted, it changes from a pale blonde color to dark brown or nearly black, making it easy to monitor.

Unlike many disposable filter media products, Purigen can be regenerated and reused when Seachem’s official regeneration instructions are carefully followed.

Directions

Rinse thoroughly before use.

Place Purigen inside a fine-mesh filter bag rated at 180 microns or finer, such as Seachem The Bag. Position the media in an area where water will flow directly through it.

Purigen is exhausted when the resin becomes dark brown or nearly black. At that point, it may be regenerated by carefully following Seachem’s official regeneration instructions.

Never return regenerated Purigen to an aquarium if any chlorine or bleach odor remains.

Important

The 250 mL and 500 mL containers include loose filtration media. A suitable fine-mesh media bag is required and sold separately.
