Salifert pH Aquarium Test Kit

Keep your reef stable and thriving with the trusted Salifert pH Aquarium Test Kit. Designed specifically for saltwater aquariums, this easy-to-use test kit helps you accurately monitor pH levels so you can catch water chemistry issues before they impact your fish, corals, and invertebrates. With approximately 50 tests per kit and a simple color comparison method, it's a must-have tool for every reefer's maintenance routine.

What Is This Test Kit For?

The Salifert pH Test Kit measures the pH level of your saltwater aquarium between 7.4 and 8.6, helping you maintain a stable environment for marine life. pH fluctuations can stress fish, reduce coral growth, and contribute to overall instability within the aquarium. Regular testing allows you to identify problems early and make adjustments before they become serious.

Ideal Reef pH Range

Most reef aquariums perform best between 8.1 and 8.4 pH. Consistency is often more important than chasing a specific number. Small daily swings are normal, but large fluctuations should be addressed.

Perfect for saltwater aquariums, reef tanks, brackish systems, and African Rift Lake cichlid aquariums including Lake Tanganyika, Lake Victoria, and Lake Malawi setups where maintaining stable alkaline water conditions is essential.

Testing under natural or white lighting will provide the most accurate reading.

Learning Moment: What Is pH?

pH measures how acidic or alkaline your aquarium water is.

  • A pH of 7.0 is neutral.
  • Below 7.0 is acidic.
  • Above 7.0 is alkaline.

Saltwater aquariums naturally run on the alkaline side. Proper pH is important because it affects coral growth, biological filtration, oxygen availability, and the overall health of your livestock. When pH becomes unstable, fish and corals can experience stress even if other parameters appear normal.

A stable pH is one of the foundations of a healthy reef aquarium.
