Accurately monitor iodine levels in your reef aquarium with the Salifert Iodine Profi Test Kit. Designed specifically for marine systems, this specialized test measures the naturally occurring forms of iodine found in seawater, including iodide and iodate.

Iodine is present in natural seawater at a very low concentration, making accuracy especially important when testing or supplementing a reef aquarium. Maintaining appropriate iodine levels may support the biological processes of corals and other marine invertebrates, while testing helps reef keepers avoid unnecessary or excessive supplementation.

The Salifert Iodine Profi Test Kit provides clear, stable color results and enough reagents for approximately 40 tests.

KEY FEATURES

• Useful for aquariums receiving iodine supplements
• Compact and convenient manual testing kit

WHY TEST IODINE?

Iodine occurs naturally in seawater at trace concentrations and may be depleted through biological uptake, protein skimming, activated carbon and other aquarium processes.

Because iodine supplements are highly concentrated and excessive dosing may be harmful, iodine should be tested before making significant supplementation adjustments. Regular testing helps reef keepers monitor trends and make more informed decisions about aquarium care.

TESTING DIRECTIONS

Carefully follow the instructions included with the test kit. Use clean testing equipment and measure the aquarium sample and reagents precisely.

Compare the developed sample color with the included reference chart to determine the iodine concentration. Read the result within the time specified in the manufacturer’s instructions.

Never add iodine supplements solely according to a general dosing schedule. Test the aquarium, observe its inhabitants and follow the supplement manufacturer’s directions.
