Reef Octopus VarioS 2S Controllable Skimmer Pump

Upgrade or replace your protein skimmer pump with the Reef Octopus VarioS 2S Controllable Skimmer Pump, designed for efficient skimmer performance, quiet operation, and precise control over water and air intake.

The VarioS 2S is a controllable DC pinwheel skimmer pump that allows hobbyists to fine tune skimmer performance with adjustable speed settings, feed modes, float switch safety, and 0–10V controller compatibility.

This pump is ideal as a replacement pump for select Reef Octopus skimmers and other compatible skimmer models.

Perfect For

• Reef Octopus skimmer pump replacement

• Protein skimmer upgrades

• Saltwater reef aquariums

• Fish only saltwater systems

• Hobbyists wanting quieter skimmer operation

• Systems needing adjustable air and water flow

Key Features

Controllable DC Performance

Unlike standard AC skimmer pumps, the VarioS 2S allows you to electronically control pump speed, helping fine tune both water flow and air draw for better skimmer performance.

5 Speed Settings

Adjust the pump output directly from the included controller to match your skimmer body, water level, and system needs.

Feed and Maintenance Modes

The controller includes pause/feed modes for 15 or 60 minutes, making feeding, water changes, and maintenance easier.

Float Switch Safety

A float switch connection is included for added protection. This can help shut the pump off if a waste collector becomes full or if the water level reaches an unsafe point.

0–10V Controller Compatible

The VarioS controller can connect to compatible third party aquarium controllers, allowing advanced control through systems like Apex or Reef Angel.

Slow Startup

The pump ramps up slowly from zero RPM to the selected speed, helping reduce sudden surges inside the skimmer.

Flexible Installation

The volute can rotate in 90 degree intervals, allowing the output to be positioned horizontally or vertically depending on your skimmer setup.
