Reef Octopus VarioS 10 Controllable Pressure-Rated DC Return Pump

Power demanding aquarium systems with confidence using the Reef Octopus VarioS 10 Controllable DC Return Pump. Designed for large freshwater and saltwater aquariums, this premium pressure-rated return pump combines exceptional performance, whisper-quiet operation, and advanced electronic control into one reliable package.

Unlike traditional AC return pumps, the VarioS 10 uses highly efficient DC technology to deliver adjustable flow, lower energy consumption, reduced heat transfer, and significantly quieter operation. Whether you're running a large reef aquarium, basement sump, manifold system, UV sterilizer, media reactors, or long plumbing runs, the VarioS 10 has the pressure and control to handle demanding applications with ease.

Perfect For

• Large reef aquariums

• Fish-only marine systems

• Freshwater aquariums

• Basement sump installations

• Long plumbing runs

• Multi-reactor manifold systems

• UV sterilizers and external filtration

• Aquariums requiring precise return flow adjustment

Why You'll Love It

Pressure-Rated Performance

Unlike many DC pumps that lose significant flow under head pressure, the VarioS 10 is engineered specifically for high-pressure applications, making it an outstanding choice for complex plumbing systems and taller aquarium installations.

90-Speed Digital Controller

The included controller offers 90 individual speed settings, allowing you to fine-tune your return flow with incredible precision. The display also shows real-time RPM and power consumption for easy monitoring.

Ultra Quiet Operation

Premium ceramic bearings and a ceramic shaft reduce vibration while extending pump life, creating nearly silent operation compared to traditional AC pumps.

Energy Efficient DC Motor

The variable-speed DC motor only uses the power required for your selected flow, helping reduce electricity costs while minimizing heat transferred into your aquarium water.

Flexible Installation

The adjustable volute rotates in 90-degree increments, allowing horizontal or vertical plumbing configurations for easier installation.

Advanced Safety Features

The controller continuously monitors pump operation and automatically shuts the pump down if electrical abnormalities are detected, helping protect both the equipment and your aquarium.

Smart Controller Features

• 90 variable speed settings

• Digital RPM display

• Real-time wattage display

• Feed Mode (15 or 60 minutes)

• Five-minute startup delay

• Float switch compatibility

• 0–10V controller compatibility

• Automatic safety shutdown
