Red Sea ReefMat 1200 Smart Fleece Roller Filter

Take mechanical filtration off your maintenance list with the Red Sea ReefMat 1200, a fully automated smart fleece roller filter designed for large saltwater and reef aquariums.

Instead of repeatedly removing and cleaning filter socks, the ReefMat automatically advances fresh fleece as debris accumulates, continuously removing suspended waste from the aquarium while helping maintain clear water.

The ReefMat 1200 combines high-flow mechanical filtration, ReefBeat smart monitoring, solid-state water-level sensors, automatic fleece advancement, and an integrated media basket in a system designed for aquariums up to 315 gallons.

Automatic Mechanical Filtration

Aquarium water passes through the ReefMat's fleece, trapping suspended particles and organic debris before they continue circulating through the system.

As the fleece becomes loaded, the ReefMat automatically advances fresh material into place and collects the used fleece on the take-up roll.

That means less time washing filter socks and more consistent mechanical filtration between maintenance sessions.

ReefBeat Smart Monitoring

The ReefMat 1200 connects to Red Sea's ReefBeat ecosystem, allowing you to monitor its operation from a compatible device.

ReefBeat tracks fleece consumption, provides daily and hourly dispensing information, and can estimate when the current roll will need replacement based on average usage. The system can also alert you when the fleece runs out or tears.

High-Flow Performance

The ReefMat 1200 is built for substantially larger systems than the ReefMat 250 and 500.

Recommended System Size: Up to 315 gallons / 1,200 liters
Maximum Flow Capacity: 2,380 GPH / 9,000 LPH

This makes it an excellent choice for large mixed reefs, SPS systems, heavily stocked saltwater aquariums, and other large sump-equipped marine systems.

Large 115-Foot Fleece Roll

The ReefMat 1200 uses a generous 6.7-inch-wide fleece roll measuring 115 feet long, providing a large filtration surface for high-flow systems.

Red Sea notes that actual roll life varies with aquarium size, bioload, feeding, water quality, and other factors. As an example, a 1200 roll may last roughly 5–8 weeks on a moderately stocked 650-liter system.

Easy Fleece Replacement

Replacement rolls can be changed without removing the ReefMat from the sump or shutting down the aquarium pumps, making ongoing maintenance much easier.

The ReefMat uses efficient, high-flow, skimmer-friendly nonwoven polyester fleece with 200-micron porosity.

Integrated Media Basket

An integrated media basket provides space for additional chemical filtration media, allowing the ReefMat to handle mechanical filtration while providing a convenient location for supplemental media.
