What You Receive

Your selected pack of 5, 10 or 25 live red-legged hermit crabs. Quantities and prices are per pack.

Care, Feeding & Compatibility

Provide stable saltwater conditions, rockwork and a selection of empty replacement shells. These are red-legged Clibanarius hermits, distinct from Scarlet Reef Hermits (Paguristes cadenati).

Supplement grazing with marine algae foods and small portions of suitable sinking food. Hermits may compete with snails or each other for shells; adequate food and spare shells help but cannot eliminate that risk. Avoid predators and protect recently molted crabs with shelter. Stock to actual food availability rather than gallons alone.

Water Quality & Acclimation

Use a stable, fully cycled marine system. Avoid sudden temperature or salinity changes and copper medications. Follow the supplied arrival instructions; handle gently and allow sheltered settling time.

Prepare for Arrival

We recommend the Simplicity Drip Acclimation Kit for controlled acclimation when directed by the arrival instructions. Sold separately; dry-goods shipping may apply.

Live Animal Disclosure
