Placement and Water Flow
The Lantana Montipora may be placed at multiple levels within an established reef aquarium. Select a location that provides moderate-to-strong, varied water movement without exposing the coral to a concentrated stream from a circulation pump.
Leave adequate room between this coral and neighboring specimens to accommodate future growth.
Lighting and Acclimation
Medium-to-high reef lighting supports healthy growth and helps maintain its distinctive coloration. Warmer lighting may emphasize the yellowish-green base, while blue and actinic lighting can highlight its purple-to-blue polyps.
Begin the coral under moderate lighting and gradually acclimate it to stronger intensity. Stable alkalinity, calcium, magnesium, salinity, temperature, and nutrient levels are essential for healthy SPS growth.
