Add reliable water-level detection to your Neptune Systems Apex with the MOS Magnetic Optical Sensor.
The MOS connects to a Neptune Systems Fluid Monitoring Module and uses reflected infrared light to detect whether the sensor is wet or dry. When the water level crosses the sensor, the MOS changes state and communicates that information to your Apex system. This allows you to create alerts, automate compatible equipment, build a custom auto top-off system, or monitor high and low water levels.
Its magnetic mounting design makes positioning the sensor quick and convenient without requiring a permanent installation. For custom applications, the sensor can also be mounted in a bracket or installed through a hole in a suitable vessel using the included fastening nut and silicone washer.
The improved housing and mounting design help protect the internal sensor from water intrusion while providing a clean, compact installation for sumps, reservoirs, aquariums, and other water-storage containers.

HOW IT WORKS
The MOS plugs into an available port on the Neptune Systems Fluid Monitoring Module. Using reflected infrared light, the sensor detects whether water is present at its installed position.
When the sensor changes from wet to dry or from dry to wet, it communicates that change to the Apex system. The detected state can then be used in Apex programming to trigger alerts or control compatible equipment.
COMPATIBILITY
Requires a Neptune Systems Fluid Monitoring Module and a compatible Apex system.
The FMM, Apex controller, pumps, solenoids, and other control equipment are sold separately.
This sensor is not a standalone auto top-off system and does not directly pump or add water. Additional equipment and Apex programming are required when using the MOS to create an automated top-off system.
MOUNTING OPTIONS
The magnetic mounting design allows the sensor to be positioned against a suitable aquarium, sump, or reservoir wall.
For custom installations, the sensor may also be mounted in a compatible bracket or installed through a properly sized hole using the included fastening nut and silicone washer.

Install the sensor at the exact water level you want the Apex system to monitor. Carefully test all programming before allowing the sensor to control pumps, solenoids, or other automated equipment.
When building an auto top-off system, redundant sensors, maximum run-time limits, and additional safeguards are strongly recommended to help prevent overfilling.
