IceCap ROX 0.8 Premium Activated Carbon

Crystal clear water starts with quality filtration media. The IceCap ROX 0.8 Premium Activated Carbon is a high performance, pharmaceutical grade carbon designed to remove yellowing compounds, odors, toxins, medications, and dissolved organics from your aquarium water while producing ultra clear results with less media than standard carbons. Its dense pellet design creates very low dust and requires minimal rinsing before use.

Perfect for reef tanks, freshwater aquariums, African cichlid systems, fish only setups, planted tanks, and even ponds.

What Is Activated Carbon?

Activated carbon is a filtration media used to remove dissolved organic waste, discoloration, toxins, odors, and impurities from aquarium water. Over time, aquarium water can develop a yellow tint caused by waste, food, coral toxins, medications, and decaying organics.

ROX 0.8 carbon helps:

• Improve water clarity
• Remove odors
• Reduce yellowing
• Remove medications after treatment
• Improve light penetration for coral growth
• Create a cleaner environment for fish and corals

Aquariums with cleaner water often experience healthier livestock and improved overall stability.

Why Choose ROX 0.8 Carbon?

ROX 0.8 is considered one of the highest performing activated carbons available in the aquarium hobby because of its extremely high adsorption capacity and low dust output.

ROX 0.8 Features

• Pharmaceutical grade activated carbon
• Ultra low dust
• Minimal rinsing required
• Removes contaminants quickly
• Use less media compared to standard carbons
• Wide pore structure for superior filtration
• Neutral pH
• Suitable for freshwater and saltwater aquariums

Unlike cheaper carbons that can release excessive fines or require heavy rinsing, ROX 0.8 is designed for premium filtration performance.

Why Clear Water Matters

Many hobbyists think crystal clear water is just about appearance, but it actually plays a major role in aquarium health.

Yellowing compounds in aquarium water can:

• Reduce light penetration
• Lower PAR reaching corals and plants
• Trap dissolved waste
• Contribute to odors
• Reduce overall water quality

In reef tanks especially, cleaner water allows lighting to penetrate deeper and helps corals receive more usable light energy. Activated carbon also helps remove toxins released by corals during chemical warfare.

How To Use

1. Rinse the carbon lightly before use.
2. Place the media into:
   • A media reactor
   • Media bag
   • Canister filter
   • Sump filtration chamber
3. Position in an area with moderate water flow.
4. Replace every 2–4 weeks depending on aquarium bioload.

Recommended Dosage

• Approximately 1 tablespoon per 10 gallons of aquarium water.

Great For

• Reef aquariums
• Saltwater fish tanks
• Freshwater aquariums
• African cichlid tanks
• Planted aquariums
• Turtle tanks
• Pond filtration systems
• Quarantine systems
