Each compact 1.25-inch ceramic Bio-Sphere contains a dense arrangement of ceramic media designed to maximize bacterial colonization while taking up minimal space inside your filtration system.

A 1KG box contains 40 Bio-Spheres and provides biological filtration capacity for aquariums up to 750 gallons. A media bag is included for easy placement and organization.

Directions for Use

Rinse the Bio-Spheres before adding them to your aquarium.

Place the media in an area with consistent water flow, such as a sump, canister filter, wet/dry filter, or hang-on-back filter. The included media bag can be used to keep the spheres contained.

For faster bacterial colonization, the media can also be seeded with a beneficial bacteria culture before being introduced to the aquarium.

Maintenance

For optimal performance, periodically rinse the Bio-Spheres using aquarium water, not untreated tap water, to remove accumulated debris while preserving beneficial bacteria.

IceCap recommends gently cleaning surface debris approximately every 12 months and replacing the media approximately every five years or as needed.

Important: Never clean or replace all biological filter media at the same time. Doing so can significantly reduce the aquarium's established beneficial bacteria population.
