Denison Barb – 3 Pack or 6 Pack
Denison Barbs are colorful, energetic freshwater schooling fish known for their streamlined silver bodies, bold black lateral stripes, vivid red markings, and yellow-and-black tails. Also called Roseline Sharks, Red-Line Torpedo Barbs, and Red Comet Barbs, they create an impressive display when swimming together in a large freshwater aquarium.
Denison Barbs are schooling fish and should be maintained in groups of at least six. Choose the 6-pack when starting a new school. The 3-pack is intended for customers adding fish to an existing Denison Barb school.

Aquarium Requirements
Denison Barbs are fast and highly active swimmers that require a long aquarium with plenty of open swimming space. A 75-gallon or larger aquarium is strongly recommended for an established school.
Provide plants, smooth rocks, driftwood, and areas of moderate water movement while preserving an open central swimming area. Clean, highly oxygenated water and consistent maintenance are important for their long-term health.
A secure aquarium lid is recommended because these active fish may jump when startled.
Schooling Requirements
Denison Barbs should not be kept alone. Maintaining a school of at least six helps them feel secure, encourages natural swimming behavior, and allows their coloration to be displayed more confidently.
The 3-pack should only be purchased when adding to an existing group. Customers beginning a new Denison Barb school should select the 6-pack.
Feeding
Denison Barbs are omnivores and should receive a varied diet. Offer quality tropical flakes or pellets along with frozen or freeze-dried foods such as brine shrimp, daphnia, bloodworms, and mysis shrimp.
Spirulina-based foods and occasional vegetable matter can also be included to support balanced nutrition and strong coloration.
Tank Mates
Denison Barbs are compatible with many similarly sized peaceful and active freshwater fish, including:
-
Other Denison Barbs
-
Larger tetras
-
Peaceful barbs
-
Rainbowfish
-
Corydoras
-
Peaceful loaches
-
Compatible gouramis
Avoid very small, slow-moving, long-finned, highly aggressive, or predatory fish. Tank mates should be comfortable with the Denison Barb’s active swimming behavior.
Acclimation
Keep the aquarium lights dim or turned off during acclimation. Gradually acclimate the fish to the aquarium’s temperature and water conditions, and never add shipping water to the main aquarium.
Provide a quiet environment after introduction and allow the new fish time to join the school before offering food.

Please allow additional processing time before shipment. Tracking information will be provided once the fish have completed preparation and have been transferred to the carrier.
