Pond Requirements

Butterfly Koi are active, fast-growing fish that require a spacious, fully cycled pond with strong filtration, excellent oxygenation, and consistently clean water.

These fish are not suitable for permanent housing in small indoor aquariums. Always account for the full adult size and waste production of every fish before choosing a pack quantity.

Avoid sharp rocks, exposed equipment, or rough decorations that could damage their extended fins.

Feeding

Feed a high-quality koi pellet formulated for the current season and water temperature.

Spring and summer: Offer a balanced, higher-protein koi formula
Cooler weather: Transition to an easily digestible wheat-germ formula
Below approximately 41°F: Stop feeding until the water warms

Avoid overfeeding and remove uneaten food to help maintain water quality.

Important Livestock Information

Live fish may display temporary color changes or appear stressed upon arrival. Allow them time to acclimate and settle into their new environment.

Always quarantine new livestock whenever possible before introducing it to an established pond. Never release aquarium or pond fish into natural waterways.
