Temperament: Peaceful
Lighting: Low to Moderate
Water Flow: Low to Moderate
Placement: Lower to Middle Areas
Growth Rate: Fast under favorable conditions

Placement & Growth
Blue Xenia can spread quickly once established in a healthy reef aquarium. Because of its growth potential, consider placing it on an isolated rock or dedicated section of the aquascape where its spread can be controlled.
An isolated Xenia island can create a beautiful display while making it easier to prevent the coral from spreading into areas reserved for other species.
Provide adequate room for future growth and expansion.
Lighting & Water Flow
Blue Xenia generally does well under low to moderate reef lighting.
Provide low to moderate water movement that allows the polyps to move gently without being subjected to strong, direct flow.
Gradual acclimation to your aquarium's lighting and flow conditions is recommended.
Feeding & Nutrition
Blue Xenia receives much of its nutritional needs through photosynthesis and generally does not require direct target feeding.
Maintaining stable water parameters and appropriate nutrient levels is more important than frequent supplemental feeding.
Recommended Water Parameters
Temperature: 75–80°F
Specific Gravity: 1.023–1.026
pH: 8.1–8.4
Alkalinity: 8–12 dKH
Calcium: 400–450 ppm
Stable aquarium conditions are more important than attempting to maintain one exact value within each range.
