Care, Feeding & Compatibility

For experienced aquarists with a large aquarium. Allow at least 75 gallons and ample room for its spine span. Secure rockwork and coral frags; its movement can dislodge loose pieces. It may graze coralline algae and damage acrylic surfaces.

Supplement available algae with marine seaweed when needed. Avoid predatory fish. Its sharp, brittle spines can cause painful punctures—never grasp or handle it with bare hands, and locate it before aquarium maintenance.

Water Quality & Acclimation

Use a stable, fully cycled marine system. Avoid sudden temperature or salinity changes and copper medications. Follow the supplied arrival instructions; handle gently and allow sheltered settling time.

Prepare for Arrival

We recommend the Simplicity Drip Acclimation Kit for controlled acclimation when directed by the arrival instructions. Sold separately; dry-goods shipping may apply.
