AquaIllumination AI Prime 16HD Reef LED Light – Black

Powerful reef lighting doesn't have to take up half the space above your aquarium.

The AquaIllumination AI Prime 16HD Reef LED packs full-spectrum reef lighting, advanced color control, programmable schedules, HD power management, and smart app control into a compact fixture measuring less than five inches square.

Designed for nano and smaller reef aquariums, the Prime 16HD provides approximately 24" x 24" of coverage, while multiple fixtures can be combined for larger reef systems.

Whether you're keeping soft corals, LPS, SPS, or building a mixed reef, the Prime 16HD gives you extensive control over both the intensity and appearance of your aquarium lighting.

Full-Spectrum Reef LED Array

The Prime 16HD Reef uses 16 primary LEDs plus a dedicated moonlight LED across individually controllable color channels.

4 Cool White
4 Blue
4 Royal Blue
1 Photo Red
1 Green
1 Violet
1 UV
1 Dedicated Moonlight

The combination provides the blue and violet wavelengths popular in reef aquariums while allowing individual adjustment of the spectrum to suit your livestock and preferred aquarium appearance.

HD Power Technology

AquaIllumination's HD technology allows available power to be dynamically redistributed between LED channels.

When certain channels are operating below their maximum output, available power can be directed toward other channels, providing greater flexibility when creating your desired reef-lighting spectrum.

Smart App Control

Take control of your lighting directly from a compatible smartphone or mobile device.

Program your daily lighting schedule, adjust individual color channels, change intensity, create gradual sunrise and sunset transitions, and customize the appearance of your reef without requiring a separate lighting controller.

Your lighting schedule can be configured around both the needs of your corals and how you want the aquarium to look throughout the day.

PAR & Coverage

The compact Prime 16HD provides approximately 24" x 24" of coverage, making it a great option for nano reefs and smaller aquariums.

Multiple Prime fixtures can also be used together to create more uniform coverage across larger reef systems.

Actual PAR and coverage will vary depending on mounting height, aquarium dimensions, water depth, intensity settings, aquascape, and other installation factors.

See the product gallery for spectrum and PAR/coverage information.

Dedicated Moonlight

A separate moonlight LED gives you independent control over nighttime illumination without relying entirely on the primary blue channels.

Create subtle nighttime viewing while maintaining a distinct transition between your daytime reef spectrum and evening lighting.

Compact Design

Despite its lighting capability, the Prime 16HD measures only approximately:

4.88" L x 4.88" W x 1.34" H

Maximum power consumption is approximately 59 watts, giving reef keepers substantial lighting control from a compact fixture that doesn't dominate the aquarium.

Ideal For

Nano reef aquariums
Small reef aquariums
Mixed reefs
Soft coral systems
LPS coral aquariums
SPS systems with appropriate placement and coverage
Frag systems
Aquarists looking for programmable smart lighting
