Care Requirements:

• Lighting: Low to Medium. Blastomussa corals thrive in lower light conditions, which allows their fleshy polyps to fully inflate and display their richest colors. Direct, intense lighting can cause the tissue to recede or bleach.

• Water Flow: Low to Medium. A gentle, indirect current is ideal. Avoid strong, direct flow, which will prevent the polyps from opening and can cause the sharp underlying skeleton to damage the delicate tissue.

• Placement: The sand bed or the lower third of your rockwork is highly recommended. They also do exceptionally well in slightly shaded overhangs.

• Feeding: While photosynthetic, Blastos grow significantly faster and maintain better health when target fed. Offer small, meaty foods such as Mysis shrimp, Calanus, or high-quality LPS coral pellets 1-2 times a week when their feeding tentacles are visible.
