Designed to connect directly to most faucets, the Python allows you to drain your aquarium, vacuum the substrate, and refill without hauling buckets back and forth. The complete system arrives ready to use with the hose, gravel tube, flow switch, connectors, faucet pump, and brass faucet adapter.

Water Changes Without the Bucket Brigade

The 50-foot hose gives you plenty of reach between your aquarium and sink.

Connect the system to a compatible faucet and use water pressure to begin siphoning aquarium water directly to the drain. While draining, the gravel tube can be used to remove debris and waste from the substrate.

When you're ready to refill a freshwater aquarium, switch the system to fill mode and direct clean tap water back to the tank. Always treat replacement water appropriately for your aquarium.

The 50-foot system is ideal for aquariums located farther from a sink and for larger tanks where carrying multiple buckets can quickly turn water-change day into leg day.

Python also offers extended gravel tubes and replacement components, allowing the system to be adapted and maintained over time.

Freshwater & Saltwater Use

The Python can be used to drain and clean both freshwater and saltwater aquariums.

For freshwater systems, it can also refill the aquarium directly from a compatible faucet when appropriate water treatment procedures are followed.

For saltwater aquariums, prepare new saltwater separately before refilling. Python/Chewy's instructions specifically recommend preparing saltwater in a container beside the aquarium, using the Python to drain and clean the tank, and then using a pump or powerhead to return the prepared saltwater.
