Continuously monitor aquarium salinity with the Neptune Systems Apex Lab-Grade Salinity/Conductivity Probe.
Designed for compatible Neptune Systems Apex monitoring equipment, this lab-grade probe measures the conductivity of aquarium water so your Apex can track salinity changes over time. Once installed and properly calibrated, it can help identify changes caused by evaporation, incorrect top-off water, dosing errors, water changes, or other conditions that affect aquarium salinity.
Through Apex Fusion, compatible Apex systems can display conductivity data, record trends, and generate alerts when readings move outside your programmed range. This provides an additional layer of protection for saltwater and reef aquariums where stable salinity is essential.
This listing is for the replacement conductivity probe only. A compatible Apex controller and salinity/conductivity connection are required and sold separately.
KEY FEATURES
• Continuously monitors aquarium conductivity and salinity
• Lab-grade probe designed for Neptune Systems Apex equipment
• Displays measurements through a compatible Apex system
• Allows salinity trends to be viewed in Apex Fusion
• Supports programmable high and low salinity alerts
• Helps identify gradual or sudden changes in salinity
• Suitable for saltwater and reef aquariums
• Ideal for replacing an aging or damaged conductivity probe
• Can be used when adding salinity monitoring to a compatible Apex setup
COMMON USES
• Monitoring salinity continuously
• Detecting salinity changes caused by evaporation
• Watching for improper freshwater top-off
• Monitoring changes following a water change
• Identifying dosing or equipment-related salinity fluctuations
• Creating Apex alerts for readings outside a desired range
• Replacing an existing Neptune Systems conductivity probe
COMPATIBILITY
Requires a compatible Neptune Systems Apex controller with a salinity/conductivity probe input or a Neptune Systems PM2 Salinity Module.
The Apex controller, PM2 module, calibration solution, probe holder, and other accessories are sold separately unless specifically stated otherwise.
Before purchasing, verify that your Apex configuration includes the appropriate conductivity connection.
CALIBRATION AND INSTALLATION
Proper calibration and placement are essential for dependable conductivity readings. Follow the calibration instructions provided by Neptune Systems and use the appropriate conductivity calibration solution.
Install the probe in an area with consistent water movement while avoiding microbubbles, direct dosing, and areas where air may become trapped around the probe. Allow the reading to stabilize after installation or calibration.
Conductivity readings may be affected by bubbles, temperature, placement, contamination, and improper calibration. Periodically compare the Apex reading with a separate trusted salinity-testing instrument.
WHAT’S INCLUDED
• Neptune Systems Apex Lab-Grade Salinity/Conductivity Probe
Only the conductivity probe is included.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
This probe does not function as a standalone salinity tester. It must be connected to compatible Neptune Systems Apex monitoring equipment.
For best results, keep the probe clean, calibrate it correctly, and position it where bubbles cannot collect around the sensing area. Do not allow the probe to dry out unless directed by the manufacturer.
