Kessil AP9XE LED Reef Aquarium Light
The Kessil AP9XE pairs the natural shimmer Kessil is known for with broader coverage and built-in Wi-Fi. Its two Dense Matrix LED arrays blend color at the source, giving your reef a smooth, sunlit look. Kessil reports 10% more light output than the AP9X, with redesigned optics that spread light across up to 48 inches of a mixed reef.
How much reef can one AP9XE cover?

For a four-foot mixed reef, one AP9XE can be a good starting point. For an SPS-heavy tank, plan around the smaller footprint. Tank depth, mounting height and rockwork affect how much light reaches each coral. If you’re upgrading an established reef, check PAR at coral placement points and ramp up intensity gradually.

Signature Kessil shimmer. Two Dense Matrix arrays with 57 LED chips each blend the light before it reaches the water, producing a natural shimmer with minimal color separation.

Mounting and compatible accessories
The Kessil AP9X / AP9XE Adjustable Mounting Arm (KSAGN04) is the dedicated tank-mount option and is sold separately. It lets you adjust the fixture’s position over the reef. Kessil also lists the extended slide bar, optional hanging kit, KSAGN02 rigid mounting arms, Spectral Controller X and K-Link cables as compatible accessories. Check your tank dimensions and mounting clearance before choosing hardware.
