Add rich color and classic dwarf angelfish personality to your aquarium with the Coral Beauty Angelfish (Centropyge bispinosa).
Its deep blue-purple body and bright orange markings make it one of the most recognizable dwarf angelfish in the marine hobby.
Care Information
Scientific Name: Centropyge bispinosa
Care Level: Moderate
Temperament: Semi-aggressive
Diet: Omnivore
Reef Compatibility: Reef safe with caution
Adult Size: Approximately 4 inches
Aquarium Type: Marine or reef with caution
Provide an established saltwater aquarium with live rock, caves, and hiding areas. Mature rockwork offers security and natural grazing opportunities.
Coral Beauties can become territorial toward other dwarf angelfish and similarly shaped fish. Consider the aquarium size, aquascape, and current livestock before introduction.
Reef Compatibility
Many Coral Beauty Angelfish live successfully in reef aquariums, but individual behavior varies. Some may nip at corals, clam mantles, and other sessile invertebrates.
This species cannot be guaranteed reef safe. Customers with valuable coral or clam collections should consider the risk before purchasing.
Feeding
Offer a varied diet of marine pellets or flakes, frozen mysis, brine shrimp, spirulina, and algae-based foods. Established rockwork also provides opportunities for natural grazing.
Livestock Variation
Product photographs are representative. Size, coloration, markings, and overall appearance will vary between individual fish.
Useful Pairings
Prepare with our fish acclimation and isolation equipment, species-appropriate fish foods and water testing supplies. Choose food and equipment for the animal’s adult needs. Supplier preparation does not replace your own quarantine.
Space for Long-Term Care
Plan for an established aquarium of at least 70 gallons with mature rockwork and sheltered grazing areas.
